Colour Vinyl Questions
How are colours chosen?
Pick a style in the Vinyl Price Builder, then give us your colours with your order details. Random Colour is the one style where you do not choose: leftover colours are blended at random.
Can I match a specific colour?
Yes. Every coloured record is a Custom Colour: you pick one colour of your choice. PMS matching is available on Standard orders.
How is translucent different from opaque?
Opaque vinyl, like black or an opaque custom colour, blocks light, so the colour looks the same in any light. Translucent vinyl lets light shine through, and we offer different levels of opacity, from fully see through to semi opaque.
Does colour affect turnaround?
Turnaround is set by your package. Standard orders take about 5 to 7 weeks after your artwork and audio are approved, and Short Runs 10 to 12 weeks. The builder shows your estimated completion date for the options you choose.
Is coloured vinyl noisier than black?
Modern coloured vinyl sounds very close to black. Picture discs have a slightly higher noise floor. If audio quality is your top priority, choose black or an opaque custom colour.
Which colours can I get on a Short Run?
Short Run offers Black, Random Colour and Custom Colour from 50 records. Clear, white and effects like translucent, marble, smoke, splatter, split and picture disc are Standard only, from 100 records.
Do effects look the same on every copy?
No. Marble, smoke, splatter, hand poured and Random Colour vary from record to record, so every copy is a little different.
What is the lowest cost colour?
Random Colour. Leftover colours are blended at random, so every copy is unique.
